1. A cookbook – ‘Chocolate Lovestory’ (Max Brenner)
If you’re the crafty type and want to make your gift, how about using Dilmah tea for a pamper session with Mum? Yes you read that correctly. You can use tea in your ingredients for pampering. Here are the recipes courtesy of the Dilmah team.
3. Eye Masks
Tea has been found to reduce puffiness and soothe pain around tired eyes. So infuse an English Breakfast or Premium Extra Strength teabag in hot water. Remove the teabag, cool and simply place over your closed eyes and relax.
4. Hair Masks
Apparently brewed tea is a great conditioning treatment for dry hair. For a pretty, fruity smell, use passionfruit, pomegranate or honeysuckle tea. Brew the tea and cool. Rinse your hair with the tea after shampooing your hair. Comb through and completely wash out before styling. It will leave your hair shiny with plenty of volume.
5. Face Masks
The antioxidants in green tea are a fantastic cleanser for getting rid of pores and blemishes. Simply pour some of your fave cleanser into a bowl with some freshly brewed green tea. Apply the mask to your face, leave it on for a few minutes and wash away with warm water.
6. Body Scrub
You need 1 cup of good quality salt; ½ cup of extra virgin olive oil; ¼ cup of Ceylon tea (finely ground) and ½ tsp vanilla extract.
Combine all the ingredients together in a bowl, and there you have your body scrub. Use extra amounts on problem areas such as elbows and knees. If you’re not using it straight away, store the body scrub in an airtight container.
7. During your pampering session, make a Berry Sensation Bellini for yourself and Mum.
• 200ml berry juice
• 100g fresh berries
• 150g Dilmah Exceptional Berry Sensation tea
• 400ml Paparazzi Prosecco
1. Cook the berries and juice, infuse the tea and refrigerate.
2. Pour the infused tea into a champagne flute.
3. Finish with chilled Prosecco and serve cold.
Hope you find the perfect gift for your mum.
My mummy is visiting her mummy in Sri Lanka this week. I’ll have to have a pamper session for her when she returns! Miss you Mummy and happy Mother’s Day for Sunday!
